WE NEED BOOKS

We Need Books είναι μια μη κυβερνητική οργάνωση που εδρεύει στην Αθήνα και πιστεύει ότι οι πολυπολιτισμικοί χώροι και τα βιβλία εξυπηρετούν πολλές σημαντικές λειτουργίες που μπορούν να ωφελήσουν όλα τα στρώματα του πληθυσμού της πόλης, συμπεριλαμβανομένων των περιθωριοποιημένων και ευάλωτων πληθυσμών, όπως περίπου 55.000 πρόσφυγες που ζουν στην Ελλάδα.

Από το 2017, ο οργανισμός έχει συλλέξει περισσότερα από 14.000 βιβλία, δημιούργησε μικρές βιβλιοθήκες, συμμετείχε σε συνέδρια, ξεκίνησε τη συγκέντρωση χρημάτων και καθιέρωσε τα βιβλία που χρειαζόμαστε ως επίσημη ΜΚΟ. Από τον Σεπτέμβριο του 2019 λειτουργεί η πρώτη πολύγλωσση βιβλιοθήκη / πολυπολιτισμικό κέντρο της Αθήνας.
